As part of Sports and Physical Activity Day taking place on May 2, the Montreal Impact Foundation, in collaboration with BMO, will distribute 1,000 soccer balls in the Villeray St-Michel Parc Extension and Sud-Ouest neighbourhoods of Montreal, and in the St-Georges-de-Champlain sector of Shawinigan. The balls will be donated to children from community organizations in order to encourage them to exercise more and adopt a more active lifestyle. With the arrival of Spring, children from the two Montreal neighbourhoods will be able to take advantage of the mini-fields built by the Foundation, while Shawinigan residents will be able to do so as of the summer of 2021, upon completion of their mini-field.
BMO is one of the founding partners of the Montreal Impact Foundation since it was created in 2013. It is important for BMO to associate itself with projects like this one, which break down the barriers surround the accessibility to the sport via its partnerships. This project is directly aligned with BMO’s purpose, which is to boldly grow the good in business and in life.
Québec Sports and Physical Activity Day (QSPAD) invites the public to discover or rediscover the joys of being active, playing sports and participating in physical activities of all kinds and in all places, be it for a specific purpose or simply as recreation.
